What is the FREE INTERNET offer?

As a special promo/offer, ALL PREPAID subscribers of Smart will enjoy FREE MOBILE INTERNET access.

What does FREE INTERNET mean?

FREE INTERNET is a promotion available to all ACTIVE prepaid subscribers to enjoy access to mobile Internet with no extra cost, initially up to 30MB, and subject to the promo terms and fair use policy.

Who are considered ACTIVE subscribers?

An ACTIVE Smart subscriber has an available airtime balance of at least one peso or is subscribed to any load bucket/promo.

With the FREE INTERNET offer, what can subscribers access for free?

Subscribers using their mobile phones can access their favorite Internet sites or apps for free, including:

Browse through or post photos and status updates on their social networking sites (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram)
Read news and entertainment sites (Rappler, CNN, and the like)
Stream music through the likes of Spinnr
Shop online (Zalora, Lazada, eBay, Amazon, etc.)
Search for information (Google, Wikipedia, Yahoo!, etc.)
Send and receive emails (Gmail, Yahoo! Mail)
Visit their favorite blogs and update their own
Use navigation apps like Waze

What sites/apps are EXCLUDED from the free internet promo?

The FREE INTERNET special offer EXCLUDES the following:

Download, stream and watch videos (Youtube, Vimeo)
Use VOIP apps (FaceTime, FaceTime Audio, Skype, Viber, Tango)
Use messaging apps (Whatsapp, WeChat, Line, Viber)
Peer-to-peer file-sharing sites and apps like Bittorrent

What is the promo period?

The promo will run until November 30, 2014.

How can I avail of this special offer?

All ACTIVE Smart subscribers can avail of the free Internet promo anytime within the promo period.
To avail of the service, the subscriber must register daily, by sending FREE to 9999.
Registration is FREE. The subscriber will then receive an SMS confirmation upon successful registration.

What will happen to my existing data subscriptions?

Your existing data package will NOT be affected, and you will still be allowed to register to the Free Internet special offer.
While using the Free Internet special offer and you access the sites/apps that are EXCLUDED under the promo terms, these transactions will be charged against your existing data subscription.

Is the FREE INTERNET unlimited?

No it is NOT unlimited. Subscribers can enjoy all-day access to their favorite sites for free, initially up to 30MB. The free service, however, is subject to the promo use conditions.

What can you do with 30MB?

On the average, a subscriber with 30MB can enjoy ALL of the following services:

20 social media posts with photo
50 web pages loads
20 plain emails
15 minutes of music streaming

Is the Free internet service available for roaming?

No. Promo can only be used while in the Philippines.

Is the free internet available for postpaid and broadband subscribers?

No. Postpaid and broadband will have their own promotions.

What is the speed of the service?

Speed will depend on several factors, such as the device/handset being used, the location and the time of use of the subscriber.
The service is delivered across all network platforms – 2G/3G/4G.
Minimum speed is 12kbps.

Smart Giga Surf OOH Stunt

They recently had an OOH stunt for #SmartGigaSurf. Using geofencing technology, Smart sent Waze notifications and text messages to those traveling along EDSA and C5. HOW TO REGISTER?

Registration will be done online via http://smart.com.ph/pages/PhilippineClash2015
Registrants should provide the following:
- Clan Name
- Clan Tag
- Name, Contact Number, Email Address and Facebook User ID of Clan Representative
- Names of Clan Members (5)
  - Player IGN

All clan members must be based in the Philippines
Registration entries will be subject to confirmation by Smart and PCCB. Please wait for the email confirmation to be sent by Smart and PCCB.

TOURNAMENT MECHANICS

Each clan must have a maximum of five (5) players only.
All participants must be physically present at their choice of venue.
All participating clans will battle it out for six (6) hours straight.
Tournament Format: Royal Rumble – No rankings or groupings; free for all.
The clan with the most number of trophies gained wins.
All tournament participants must have at least Townhall 9 villages.
All clans must be closed and remain closed for the whole duration of the tournament.
All participants must create a new clan following the name format provided by the organizers on the day of the event itself.
Clan Baseline CupsClan Baseline Cups: 4,000Each clan must start at a trophy range of 3,500 to 4,500 so as not to incur penalties.
Penalty Computation:
50% of clan’s excess cups will be deducted from their final trophy count as penalty.
Example:
Clan Baseline: 4,000 (+/-500)
Clan’s Actual Starting Cups: 5,000
Excess: 500 cups
Actual Penalty: 250 cups
Individual Baseline CupsIndividual Baseline Cups: 1,800
No participant must exceed 1,800 trophies at the onset of the event. If any clan member goes beyond the said individual baseline, penalties will be deducted from the clan.Penalty Computation:
Actual number of trophies that a participant has which is over the set individual baseline of 1,800
Example:
Individual Baseline: 1,800
Individual’s Actual Starting Cups: 2,000
Excess: 200 cups
Actual Penalty: 200 cups
Any player who leaves the clan during the tournament may not re-join or be re-invited.
There will be no limits on troop donation.
Use of gems is not prohibited and will not be regulated.
Use of any 3rd party applications (iMod, xMod, etc) is strictly prohibited.
