3 Ways to Enjoy Free Facebook from Globe

With the monsoon season once again rearing up on the Philippines, the country’s leading mobile brand Globe Telecom offers an exciting way to chase the boredom and blues away by bringing to its customers more ways to connect to top social networking site Facebook for free.
Now, customers don’t have to worry about using up their data allocation or looking for a Wi-Fi spot when stuck in a rainy traffic jam or bored at home because of the stormy weather, as
Globe offers three (3) ways to access free Facebook: Facebook with
1. Free Data
2. Facebook 7-day trial for TM customers
3. Free access to Facebook with a GoSURF subscription.
“We are committed to drive the country’s positioning as the Digital Lifestyle Capital of the World as we bring a complete suite of free Facebook experiences to our customers and give them more ways to enjoy Facebook without data charges. Free Facebook from Globe will definitely be your favorite rainy day companion to enjoy Facebook all-day everyday – anytime, anywhere,” says Dan Horan, Globe Senior Advisor for Consumer Business.
Globe launched Facebook with Free Data, a zero-rated lightweight version of Facebook with limited access to photos and videos. It is a new feature that allows customers to choose the type of Facebook access they will enjoy via an in-app data control button that indicates which version of Facebook the customer is using and can be dismissed anytime so as not to disturb browsing. Users will also be notified if they are leaving Facebook with Free Data and will receive an advisory of charge if they click a photo within Facebook, an external link, or any content that leads outside Facebook.
New customers of TM will also be able to enjoy free Facebook via purchase of a TM® Choose-Your-Number SIM. Available for only P30, customers will receive the bonus of free access to the full Facebook experience for 7 days, be allowed to choose their own mobile number, and register to different call, text, and mobile internet promos.
Finally, hardcore Facebook users can enjoy full free access to Facebook with a GoSURF subscription complete with photo and video browsing. Aside from a complete Facebook browsing experience, access to the Messenger app, excluding calls, is also free.
Postpaid customers can access Facebook for free without any purchase requirement while Globe Prepaid and TM customers will automatically get access upon purchase of any GoSURF promo. The validity of the free access to Facebook is the same as the subscribed GoSURF promo. Free access to Facebook works on any mobile platform, including the Facebook Android app and browsers (via m.facebook.com), without any maintaining balance.
Aside from free Facebook, customers also get free access to premium content such as Spotify and top mobile games with GoSURF. With GoSURF50, customers get 300MB of data to access the internet and an additional free 400MB for music streaming and online mobile gaming for only P50 valid for 3 days. The games include Clash of Clans, Candy Crush Saga, Candy Crush Soda Saga, Summoners War, Hay Day, Boom Beach, Soul Seeker, Dungeon Hunter 5, and Asphalt 8: Airborne – perfect for keeping entertained despite the dreary weather.
To get free access to Facebook on Globe Prepaid or TM via GoSURF, simply register to any GoSURF promo and wait for the Facebook activation notification which will be sent via text message. For customers who wish to avail of the bonus FB trial for TM SIMs, simply text BONUS FB to 8888. Facebook with Free Data launches once a customer has updated their FB app to its latest version and will automatically be available to those who are not on Postpaid or any GoSURF plan. For Postpaid customers, opt-in to free Facebook by texting FREE FB ON to 8888. For more information, text FREE FB to 8888. To inquire about the promo, text FREE FB HELP to 8888. #Komunidad Global, #Globe Group Collaborate to Help Make #Siargao more Climate-resilient

The Globe Group and leading climate data and analytics software company Komunidad Global have teamed up to implement an early warning monitoring system in Siargao island, a famous tourist destination in the Philippines, to strengthen its climate-resiliency to typhoons and other natural emergencies.
The collaboration was announced by Komunidad Global Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer Allister Ayque at the “Mobile For Development Seminar: A Better Climate Future – Opportunities For Innovation In Climate Adaptation And Resilience” at the recent Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona.
The Climate-Resilient Siargao Project, which also involves select local government units in Siargao, is a significant step towards ensuring the sustainability and resilience of the island and its residents in the face of environmental challenges. Siargao was among islands devastated by powerful Typhoon Odette in December 2021.
The Project aims to establish an integrated and comprehensive climate resilience system that can be set up quickly at any location in the Philippines without investing in sensor equipment and multiple software systems. It provides critical data, insights, reports, and early warnings to help local government units make informed decisions to prepare during times of disasters and to mitigate their impact on communities.

Komunidad Global Co-Founder and Chief Operations Officer Allister Ayque (rightmost in photo) shares news about the company’s partnership with Globe at the “Mobile For Development Seminar: A Better Climate Future – Opportunities For Innovation In Climate Adaptation And Resilience” during the recent Mobile World Congress 2023 in Barcelona.
The initiative is scheduled to be launched this month, with the municipalities of Burgos, Dapa, Del Carmen, General Luna, Pilar, San Benito, San Isidro, Santa Monica, and Socorro as beneficiaries.
“We are excited to partner with Globe in empowering Siargao communities to anticipate, absorb, and adapt to the negative impacts of climate change through data-driven and science-based decision support tools. We look forward to working with Globe in implementing this project,” Ayque said.
As a start, Globe will provide Home Prepaid WiFi devices and support Komunidad as its Mobile Network Operator to help local governments with efficient risk response in their day-to-day disaster preparedness activities. Globe will also look at other potential integration points with Komunidad Global’s platform.
“We recognize the role of technology in strengthening climate resilience, and we are committed to supporting initiatives that promote sustainable development in the communities we serve. This partnership is one way we can use our technology to help local government units in Siargao prepare for and mitigate the impact of disasters,” said Yoly Crisanto, Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer at the Globe Group.
Rofil Sheldon Magto, Globe Regional Communications Senior Manager for Visayas and Mindanao, added, “Globe has always been at the forefront of innovation and digital transformation in the Philippines. Our recent submarine cable landing in the Municipality of Dapa is a testament to our commitment to providing reliable connectivity to more Filipinos. We are proud to support the Climate-Resilient Siargao Project and help build a climate-resilient Philippines.”
Komunidad Global is a portfolio company of ADB Ventures and Wavemaker Partners, supported by the GSMA Innovation Fund for Climate Resilience and Adaptation. It provides digital transformation and decision-support tools for climate resilience and sustainability and helps governments and companies harness the power of data and analytics to manage climate risk and optimize for a low carbon future.
In the Philippines, Komunidad Global is used by major cities as well as schools and energy, mining, real estate and BPO companies. It is also used in states in India and by farmers in Cambodia.
