Lenovo Vibe P1m Vs Lenovo A6000 Plus

After being quiet for some time, renowned tech giant Lenovo has started changing gears. The company has unleashed a bunch of new smartphones, one after the other, focusing on the competitive mainstream market. These phones are no flagships but are sassy budget phones deemed to offer full value for money in against the likes of players like Xiaomi and Micromax in the game.
So, as a part of this strategy, the Chinese tech giant recently two new budget phones, not with just good value for money but also with a halo feature, long-lasting battery performance. The new Vibe P1 and Vibe P1m featuring 4900mAh and 3900mAh batteries offer exactly what the budget buyers need, immense power backup!
While Vibe P1 is posing a direct threat to OnePlus X and Moto X Play, its younger sibling coming at PHP. 7,999 is being confused with Lenovo’s another mind-boggling handset, the A6000 Plus. Despite similar prices, a lot differs between the two smartphones including that big battery of Vibe P1m. Therefore, to end this confusions, we’re giving a detailed comparison of both smartphones, highlighting the best choice between the two!
Design and Build Quality
In a highly competitive budget market where everyone is rushing for incorporating top-tier specs at decent prices, only few are considering the majestic element of design. This definitely includes Lenovo, as the company has given a complete makeover to its budget series with its beautifully crafted Vibe P1m.
While the Lenovo A6000 Plus featured the same boring design from its predecessor with a solid build and a flimsy removable back cover, the newest member in the budget lineup Vibe P1m packed much of utilitarian design with few upgrades here and there.
Though Vibe P1m looks a little thicker due to a bigger battery, a few interesting tweaks from Lenovo certainly make it catchy and attractive. It is made completely from plastic, but a nice looking coating of faux aluminum and a small metal plate running around the camera lens make it a better looking phone than the moderately designed A6000 Plus.
Display
With no major differences, Lenovo Vibe P1m and A6000 Plus both feature a good looking 5-inch HD IPS display. Both smartphones look very similar and deliver a nice viewing experience with sharp, vibrant and true-to-life colors. But, despite these qualities, under broad sunlight, they lose some legibility and look quite dull and weak. Turning off auto-brightness helps a lot and ensures generously impressive performance on moderate usage.
Hardware and Performance
With a modest chipset on-board, the hardware of Lenovo Vibe P1 looks like the biggest disappointment in the entire package. The handset powers up by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735P SoC clocked at 1.0GHz, and fails to make a strong impression over the quad-core Snapdragon 410 SoC of the Lenovo A6000 Plus. Both phones pair up with 2GB RAM and promise a decent experience on moderate usage, but in case you’re a heavy user with more gaming and processing needs, Lenovo A6000 Plus with faster and better processor would probably be a better choice!
Software
Lenovo Vibe P1m and A6000 Plus both offer a highly customized Vibe UI experience, based on the latest iteration of Android. They both give seamless performance with a bunch of intuitive features, but the difference lies in the fact that A6000 Plus runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat out-of-the box, and will have to upgraded to Android 5.0.2, while the new Vibe P1m offers the latest Android 5.1 Lollipop right away.
As for bloatware, both phones look pretty clean and feature some preinstalled Proprietary and third party apps such as, SHAREit, SYNCit, Truecaller, Evernote, and WeChat.
Camera Output
The camera setup of Lenovo Vibe P1m and Lenovo A6000 Plus is fairly impressive. Both phones feature an 8-megapixel rear autofocus shooter and deliver decent and sharp images even in lowlight environments. They both give clean and punchy images, and excel even in in close up shots without any glitches or color shifts. The speed of their camera shutter is slightly on the lower side, but considering a moderate price tag, it’s a great deal from Lenovo.
On the other end, the front-facing cameras also deliver sharp and vibrant selfies. They both produce generously impressive results and make a strong impression in lowlight environments. But, due to its enhanced pixel count, the 5MP shooter of Vibe P1m comes as the slightly better choice.
Battery Life
Despite above mentioned differences, battery life marks the biggest line of difference between Lenovo Vibe P1m and A6000 Plus. The latest member of the Vibe family takes a strong dig against A6000 Plus with its humongous 3900 mAh battery. It offers sufficient fuel for running through an entire day of heavy usage, and is fairly stronger than the 2300 mAh battery of A6000 Plus. Play, browse, or work, it will cater all your needs with a subtle touch of perfection!
Price
As of now, Lenovo A6000 Plus and Vibe P1m both are available in the Indian smartphone market. The A6000 Plus is shipping at a price tag of Rs. 7,499 via different retail channels, while Vibe P1m is available as a Flipkart exclusive product at an enticing price tag of Rs. 7,999. Both come bundled with a bunch of offers, and are up for grabs on open sale.
Final Verdict
The face-off between Lenovo Vibe P1m and A6000 Plus is definitely close, but with a small difference of pricing, we’ll give the margin of benefit to Vibe P1m. For a few more bucks, the impressively built smartphone brings a rich look, a batter camera, and most importantly a long-lasting battery. Apart from the moderate MediaTek processor, all elements packed with the dual SIM smartphone look certainly splendid. It offers LTE connectivity on both SIM card slots, USB OTG support, and can stay up and running for long-hours without any glitches.
In a nutshell, Lenovo Vibe P1m makes up a perfect smartphone for a person who’s looking for a powerful phone with a tight budget, just inside 10k!
