Moto Z Force

Earlier this month, two of the most anticipated smartphones, the OnePlus 3 and the Moto Z Force were showcased with their exceptional set of features and beautiful metal bodies. The two smartphones got the kick start they deserved amid huge excitement from followers across the world. OnePlus 3 gathered appreciation for its enticing design strategy and strong internals, while Moto Z Force fancied everyone with its shatterproof screen and unique mods.

Moto Z Force is coming to India in the month of September, while OnePlus 3 is already up for grabs at Rs. 27,999. The two beauties pack an incredible package, but the question is, which one has a better deal on offer?

OnePlus and Motorola have delivered on past occasions, but to choose sides between their latest flagships, our in-depth comparison will help you out- highlighting the best of both!

Design and Build Quality

OnePlus and Motorola have never really compromised on design. The two giants already have already made it big and now they’re going for the buzz kill with Moto Z Force and OnePlus 3.

The modular Moto Z Force looks extremely premium and boasts a sleek profile tipping on the scale at 5.2mm. It features a durable body made from aircraft grade aluminium and stainless steel, and stands out against all flagships in the high-end segment. The shatterproof display on its top adds bit of a weight, but on whole, the fine aesthetics, premium feel, and enticing colours work out really well.

Even OnePlus 3 bears tempting form-factor. The handset may not be as durable as Z Force, but it definitely has the looks to walk over any phone including the leading flagships. It’s perfectly curved metal body looks very impressive, and fits nicely in one hand. There’s less bulk to deal with, and we definitely call it the best looking OnePlus ever!

Stunning Visuals

When it’s not about design, it’s always about visual experience. Only a few phones deliver on this aspect and lucky for us, OnePlus 3 and Moto Z Force are on this elite club. Moto Z Force boasts a quad-HD Super AMOLED display with shatterproof capabilities, while OnePlus 3 bears a 2.5D Optic AMOLED panel with slightly less pixels but same real world vibrancy.

Both phones share the same screen size, but Moto Z Force outperforms OnePlus with enhanced durability and pixel density of its screen. It endows a detailed viewing experience with 500+ pixels per inch and boasts shatterproof capabilities that keep the screen from breaking into pieces. But that does not mean we don’t like the FHD panel on OnePlus. It has the required visual quality with Gorilla Glass 4 protection, but is not as durable as the one on Moto Z Force.

Performance and Internals

The processing power on Moto Z Force and OnePlus 3 is triggered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 820, featuring four Kryo cores- two running at 2.15 GHz other two at 1.6 GHz. Both phones deploy this 64-bit chip at its very best and create an exquisite ecosystem for seamless work and play.

However, under heavy usage with lots of multitasking and gaming, the OnePlus 3 would still make a better package. The latest flagship killer has a whopping 6GB of RAM, which you hardly find on any smartphone in this price bracket. It can single-handedly outperform a decent Moto Z Force that holds 4 gigs of RAM to handle multi-tasking. You’ll get an exemplary user and gaming experience on both phones, but we’re just telling you OnePlus has a better offering!

OS and UI

From performance to power-saving, Moto Z Force and OnePlus 3 bring the sweet flavour of Marshmallow with some impressive features. Though both beauties pack snappy performance, the custom skin bundled with OnePlus 3 has a tad more on offer. Oxygen OS is highly customizable and can easily embrace your entire user-experience with new and unique features. It looks like a near perfect version stock Android, while Moto Z Force is pure vanilla with a clean look and zero bloatware.

Picture-Perfect Photography

If you’re in love with smartphone photography, the cameras bundled with OnePlus 3 and Moto Z Force can definitely do the job for you. The superb Moto Z Force brings a 21-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash, OIS, Phase Detection Autofocus, and an aperture as wide as f/1.8. It delivers punchy and vivid shots and is paired with a 5-megapixel secondary camera which delivers sharp low-light selfies. The experience really good, but even OnePlus 3 makes a tough competition for this player. The flagship killer packs a 16MP f/2.0 shooter with OIS, PDAF, and LED flash. It performs well in low-light, captures 4k video, and also includes an 8-megapixel selfie up front.

Battery Life

OnePlus 3 bears a 3000 mAh battery while Moto Z Force accommodates a massive 3500 mAh powerhouse. On paper, the two phones boast a clear difference, but in real world, they both go head to head and last only for a day. The reason being low and high-res displays. The battery bundled with OnePlus 3 powers a less power hungry full-HD display and performs at par with Moto Z Force which uses a high-capacity battery to power a battery eater screen. Meaning, the juice on Moto Z Force is nothing but a way to compensate the damage done by a Quad-HD display panel.

Bottom Line

Summing this up, we can easily call OnePlus 3 an ultimate flagship killer. The device, sitting proudly in the sub-30k price bracket, offers flagship-level features with a stunning profile. Except for the part where Moto Z Force boasts an unbreakable display and additional mods, there’s nothing that makes OnePlus look bad. The phone has got the goods to take down leading flagships and is definitely our pick of the day!

Moto Z Force is also a good phone, but considering Motorola’s tedium of pricing, we don’t expect to see this phone in the mid-range segment. Just like Moto X Force, the Z family will also fit in the flagship category alongside LG G5 and Galaxy S7.
