Redmi Note 12 Hardware and Design

In the hardware design and look, the Redmi Note 12 adopts a modern and elegant design structure. It features a semi slim unit with a glossy back panel, which gives it a premium look and feel.
The Redmi Note 12 fits comfortably in your hand and the button locations are intuitive, I like the placement of the fingerprint sensor which is located at the power button . The bezels around the display are fairly slim, although there is a small chin at the bottom. Overall, the design is furnished and should appeal to many users.

Moving on to the display, the Redmi Note 12 boasts a large IPS LCD panel measuring around 6.5 inches. The resolution appears to be crisp and vibrant, offering an immersive viewing experience for multimedia consumption, gaming, and browsing. The colors seem accurate, and the brightness levels are decent, ensuring good visibility even under direct sunlight. It would have been great to see an AMOLED panel, but considering the price range, the LCD display seems satisfactory.

Regarding the Android OS, the Redmi Note 12 runs on MIUI 14, Xiaomi’s custom GUI, on top of Android 13. MIUI 14 offers manageable and highly customizable settings, though it has been criticized in the past for being slow and having a lot of useless apps and ads. Hopefully, Xiaomi will improve on this to improve the user experience and reduce unnecessary apps and software.
