Persistent technological exploration aims to address Filipinos’ challenges.
In a groundbreaking move, #Globe a leader in telecommunications services and digital solutions in the Philippines, has formed a new group to spearhead the company’s integration of artificial intelligence (AI), as it continually innovates to alleviate Filipinos’ everyday challenges.
Ernest Cu, President and CEO of Globe, announced the formation of Globe’s AI Development and Enablement Group (AIDE), marking a significant leap towards harnessing AI to improve business operations, service delivery, and customer experience.
AIDE, set to officially commence as a group on June 1, 2024, will lead Globe’s AI endeavors, concentrating on strategic AI planning, development, business integration, and governance.
“To maintain our competitive edge, we must persistently innovate and embrace new technologies. The advent of Artificial Intelligence (AI) signifies a crucial shift, promising to transform the way we conduct business and serve our customers. We’ve started to witness AI’s impact through various teams across Globe initiating efforts to harness its benefits, but it’s essential that we proceed with a unified purpose and renewed determination to swiftly navigate these new technological landscapes,” stated Cu.
To head the new group, Globe has appointed cybersecurity and data privacy specialist Anton Bonifacio as its inaugural Chief AI Officer (CAIO). Bonifacio, who also serves as the company’s Chief Information Security Officer, is responsible for some of Globe’s state-of-the-art innovations in data protection and cyber defense.
"The establishment of AIDE represents a strategic investment in our technological capabilities and a concerted effort to seamlessly incorporate AI into our operations,” Bonifacio said.
Globe has already started integrating AI into its business operations, utilizing the technology for efficiency and cost transformation. AI is at various stages of implementation in internal processes such as credit and collection, financial reports, and procurement contracts. Globe has also begun using AI for customer care and credit scoring.
“We are dedicated to cultivating a culture of innovation and responsible AI usage, ensuring that our advancements not only drive business growth, improve service delivery, and enhance customer experience, but also adhere to the highest standards of governance and compliance,” Bonifacio added.
