13th Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA@13) How to Submit Entries and P300k Cash Grants

Globe has officially opened nationwide submissions for the 13th Globe Media Excellence Awards (GMEA@13), inviting media practitioners and digital content creators to join this year's search, with a debut of a landmark special award, The Most Engaging Story of the Year, designed to honor storytelling that sparks active digital community dialogue.

Under the banner theme "The Next Great Filipino Story," GMEA@13 calls on journalists, broadcasters, and digital content creators across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao to submit stories that showcase technology-driven progress, public service innovation, and everyday community transformation. Works published or broadcasted between August 2025 and July 2026 may be submitted through the official portal from August 17 to September 16, 2026.

Redefining Impact: The ‘Most Engaging Story of the Year’

To reflect the modern times where powerful storytelling extends beyond broadcast to active digital conversations, GMEA@13 introduces The Most Engaging Story of the Year category. This landmark addition honors work that achieves both exceptional journalistic merit and profound audience resonance.

"This year’s theme will champion ‘The Next Great Filipino Story’, heralding a new era of purpose-driven storytelling which not only resonates but drives people to act and get involved. We look forward to seeing another strong batch of entries that capture this theme in all its forms, and honor our media practitioners and creators who continue to craft stories with relevance and conviction" said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability and Corporate Communications Officer.

Data-Driven Integrity & Transparent Evaluation

Demonstrating GMEA’s commitment to objective, data-backed judging, candidates for The Most Engaging Story of the Year require no separate application. All entries submitted across primary categories automatically prequalify, with the top five finalists in each category advancing to a specialized evaluation pool.

Candidates for The Most Engaging Story of the Year are evaluated using a balanced 50/50 dual-pillar framework that weighs editorial excellence alongside verified online audience response. Half of the final score (50%) measures Content Quality, adapted directly from the primary judging round's core journalistic standards on a 1-to-10 scale. The remaining 50% evaluates Social Media Engagement, calculated by dividing the sum of all verified interactions including total reactions, shares, comments, and views verified via submitted screenshots by the post’s total reach, multiplied by 100 to determine the final engagement rate.

Honoring Excellence Across Categories

GMEA@13 continues its tradition of recognizing transformative storytelling across multi-platform journalism and community leadership, offering over ₱300,000 in total cash grants across all divisions:
