Packaging and 1st Impression
This gaming smartphone is very different from the rest of the phones, you can immediately noticed it from the packaging, you can see a very customized box that looks like a space capsule or a spaceship hibernation bed, it’s not the usual rectangular box you usually see in a phone.
The detail is very intricate, and you will be immediately amazed at 1st sight, not to mention the excitement of opening it where it feels like a Christmas present and feel that excitement no matter what age you are.

With it’s slider like access, opening it will immediately show the actual ROG Phone 6 PRO unit itself. You will be instantly amazed with the back design of the unit, the 1st thing you will notice is the back display screen or what’s called the ROG vision, which changes according to the apps or category you open in the phone, also visible is the red ROG logo which makes the ROG Phone 6 Pro very Cool and futuristic.
Peripherals
The gaming phone comes with it’s own accessories, 1st you will see is the AR card which I will post more about it in the full review. It also comes with a special braided black USB-C cable and a power brick which supports fast charging with 65W USB PD PPS.
It also comes with a free black back cover case that matches the aesthetics of the ROG Gaming Phone, the usual warranty booklet is also there which has actually a design in the cover and not the usual black & white one.
Usage and Display
I am with a unique ROG startup screen that is not common to any phones, it’s like setting up a space phone with the graphic effect and introduction. It looks like seeing a sci-fi movie that guides you along the way. You will also play a mini game through the AR card which is fun.
The display of the ROG Phone 6 Pro is very clear & dynamic which has a 6.78-inch Samsung AMOLED HDR10+ display that uses exclusive ROG tuning technology to achieve an amazing 165 Hz refresh rate, an industry-leading 720 Hz touch-sampling rate and a world-beating 23 ms ultra-low touch latency, which is deserves it’s title as the ultimate gaming smartphone.
With features such as high-performance processors and high-refresh-rate displays providing smooth and responsive gameplay. Specialized gaming-focused hardware and software can also enhance the gaming experience, such as the ROG GameCool 3D vapor-chamber cooling system on the ROG Phone.
Tried several apps and games and it basically runs all of it
without any glitches or hangs. You can even choose apps that supports
different refresh rates which is cool.
Hardware
The device is a bit heavier than its counterparts maybe it’s due to its 6000mAH battery capacity which is not an issue for me. This is just right if you are into gaming and do not want to run out of juice when you do heavy gaming.
Aside from the already amazing back aesthetics display and the led screen. The ROG Phone 6 Pro still retains the 3.5mm headphone jack slot which great if you are still into wired audio devices.
I almost forgot that the ROG Phone 6 Pro is still a phone and not a gaming console in fact it supports dual nano sim for your SMS and calling needs :D.
